What is skin tightening?

Glowing, soft, natural, and youthful-looking. These are the qualities we always want to use to describe our skin Unfortunately due to lack of fats, loss of bone density leads to wrinkles and sagging faces as your body ages. The skin loses its capability to produce elastin and collagen, which are the substances that make the skin tight and firm. In recent years, a variety of non-surgical procedures have been developed to assist tighten the skin on the face and allow body skin tightening using radio frequency, ultrasound, and lasers.  Although these treatments are non-surgical, they should only be performed under the supervision of a licensed professional and physician.

Types of skin tightening procedures:

With advancement in technology many treatments have been developed. Following are all the procedures which help to tighten your skin:

Ultrasound skin tightening.

A micro-focused ultrasound is used to send heat deep into layers of your skin, up to 5mm below the surface. The device used in ultrasound skin tightening is much more helpful than that used in laser treatment. It targets the deep lower layers(dermis) of the skin to stimulate collagen production. It can tighten and lift the skin on your face, neck and upper chest, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and leaving any surgical scars. The ultrasound skin tightening before and after therapy results can take up to 6 months to show, but they can be seen after just one treatment.

Radiofrequency (RF) therapy.

Similar to ultrasound skin tightening, a handheld device is used to send heat into your skin to promote collagen production. In contrast to ultrasound, radiofrequency targets the outer layer of your skin called the epidermis. It is FDA approved for the treatment of the face, neck, body and hands. RF treatments can be combined with microneedling to treat the deeper layers of the skin. In both circumstances, the results appear slowly. Although many people see results with just one RF treatment, it may take two to six treatments to achieve the desired results. With the right skin care plan, results can last up to three years.

Laser Skin tightening:

The skin-tight laser treatment uses handheld lasers to send heat deep into the skin, destroying the epidermis to reach the skin layer. The laser is used to tighten the skin by heating the collagen beneath the skin. Laser treatments have been indicated to be quite effective on the skin of the abdomen and upper arms. Many people receive three to five treatments. It’s the most famous treatment and also has more customers with positive feedback, who are happy with their skin tightening before and after results.

Skin tightening treatments for face:

There are plenty of face tightening procedures where each has its pros and cons and the final results. In the following section we have categorized the treatments into three categories i.e; good, better, and best face tightening options.

Face skin tightening before and after results are intense and a clear difference can be seen before and after the treatment if the treatment is done correctly

  • Derma filler:

Injectable dermal fillers and/or bio-stimulatory fillers like Sculptra and Radius effectively reduce fine lines and wrinkles, tighten skin elasticity, and restore volume to your face.

  • Hyaluronic Acid Fillers:

These soft, gel-like injections contain Hyaluronic Acid (HA), which is already found in your skin and works to keep skin chubby and hydrated. As you age, the skin and muscles on your face begin to thin, with a loss of volume emerging wrinkled or open with folds, lines, wrinkles and thin lips. HA fillers can be used to soften and fill in these wrinkles and deep folds, creating consistency, definition and volume to the face and lips. Examples of HA fillers include Juvéderm, Restylane, and Belotero Balance.

  • Sculptra:

Sculptra works as a collagen stimulator. By substituting lost collagen, this injection will treat deep lines and wrinkles to give you a more young appearance without revealing that you’ve had work done. Sculptra effectively manages skin problems such as smile lines, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and chin wrinkles.

  • Facial skin tightening laser treatment:

Facial laser skin tightening is a cosmetic procedure that intends to reduce some signs of skin ageing. It involves using a laser beam to heat collagen in the skin.

Laser skin tightening before and after results and treatment:

Lasers treatment target the surface layers of the skin to provide a safe, non-invasive treatment to improve the appearance of your face including fine lines, wrinkles and hyperpigmentation. Lasers also stimulate collagen production, which can replace old and damaged skin with new, healthy skin. Laser skin tightening before and after results are the main thing you need to know before undergoing the treatment. Laser skin tightening before and after results are intense, and that too without a surgical facelift.

Best Face Tightening treatments:

The most successful approach to achieving younger-looking skin is the combination of treatments and procedures for comprehensive facial therapy. Following is the list of all the procedures that can be combined to produce a non-surgical facelift.

1) Silhouette Instalift:

Silhouette Instalift is a non-invasive and non-surgical facelift that uses dissolvable sutures with small cones under the skin to reshape and physically lift parts of the face. It takes only 45 minutes to perform and shows immediate, long-lasting results that only enhance over time.

2) Thermi Tight:

Thermi tight is a non-surgical procedure developed to reduce wrinkles while tightening any loose or sagging skin around the face and body. It uses safe and effective radio frequency energy through a thermal system to heat the tissue underneath the skin’s surface, causing loose skin and collagen growth to shrink and tighten.

3) Ultherapy:

Ultherapy uses advanced fractionated ultrasound technology that gently penetrates the skin with heat, tightening the deep internal tissues of the skin and creating a fine lifting and tightening effect. However, complete results are not immediate. Effects are slowly seen over a few months as collagen production is renewed. As your skin gradually becomes tighter your facial outlines still look very natural.

4) Thermage:

Thermage is a non-surgical treatment that uses radio frequency technology to heat the deeper layers of the skin, causing collagen to shrink and increase its production. It helps create soft skin after just one treatment with results that gradually improve over time taking up to 6 months to show complete results. Thermage treatment can cure facial problems such as:

  • Flaky skin
  • “Turkey’s Neck”
  • Lack of definition in the jaw
  • Wrinkles and fine lines near the mouth, eyes and forehead.

Skin tightening before and after Thighs:

With growing age, the skin on the legs and upper thighs starts to lose elasticity and becomes lumpy and saggy. Other than ageing there are also several reasons like if you have lost weight recently then you can also find some extra loose skin around your thighs. There are much skin tightening procedures for thighs. This can be done both by surgical and non-invasive treatments. Surgical treatments are necessary for the severe sagging skin that has occurred due to massive loss of weight.

A thigh lift is a surgical treatment that can make the skin around the thighs and legs firm. A thigh lift is performed under general anaesthesia. In most cases, your surgeon will make two types of incisions to suit your needs. To improve the inner thigh, your surgeon will usually make an incision that starts at the groin and wraps around the back of the thigh. To improve the outer thigh, your incision will also start at the groin, but extend around the hip before wrapping around the back of the thigh.

Thermage is also considered an effective treatment for tightening skin before and after the thighs. Thermage is a non-surgical treatment that uses radio frequency technology to heat the deeper layers of the skin, causing collagen to shrink and increase its production. After the treatment, the body then starts to produce enough collagen which will tighten the look of your skin and minimize the appearance of wrinkles on the thighs. It’s the best way if you want to see instant skin tightening before and after results.

Skin tightening before and after Stomach:

Loose stomach skin usually appears due to ageing, excessive weight loss and pregnancy. A variety of products and methods are available as skin tightening techniques but each one has its limitations when it comes to having smooth and firm skin around the stomach. There are three options to tighten your loose stomach skin which include exercises, non-surgical treatments and surgical treatments.

  1. Exercise: Abdominal tightening exercises combined with a healthy diet can help to some extent. It helps to reduce the appearance of loose skin, but this will largely depend on the person’s body type, genetics and regular exercise routine.
  2. Non-surgical procedures: Non-surgical treatments are non-invasive and leave your skin intact and are excellent skin tightening procedures for the abdomen. Laser Skin tightening for the stomach is the non-surgical process in which a laser targets the deep layer of the skin to produce enough collagen resulting in an effective tightening of the skin.
  3. Surgery: Surgery is a common but expensive procedure to improve the appearance of sagging skin, but it will have lasting results only if your weight remains unchanging. Invasive treatment involves making a surgical incision along the abdomen to remove excess skin. Surgery does not come without its risks. But you will thank yourself after seeing the skin tightening before and after the results

Skin tightening treatments for Arms:

If you’ve recently lost a lot of weight, especially in your arms then you may notice that you have extra skin. Even for individuals who maintain a healthy diet and exercise routine that includes resistance exercises for the arms, loose skin on the arms can still be a problem.

  • Exercises: Exercise helps in moving our muscles with good blood flow which in return we get not only amazing skin tightening before and after results but also an active body.

Including these exercises two to three times a week can help you tighten your skin:

    • Weight training
    • Resistance training
    • Pilates
  • Healthy Diet: Eating the right foods along with proper exercise can help in healthy weight loss. Certain foods can increase collagen production, which helps chubby skin. Try adding these foods to your diet:
    • Wild salmon
    • Spinach
    • Protein shakes
    • Slow Roasted Nuts
    • Grass-fed beef
    • Coconut
  • Fillers: Fillers are another non-surgical procedures that can be used to restore volume to your hands. A liquid is injected into your hands to tighten the skin and enhance volume. This gives them a complete look and reduces the appearance of ageing. Fillers can be used for little to moderate sagging, and results are immediate. Common fillers include:
    • Botox
    • Radiance
    • Restylane

Surgical treatments for neck skin tightening before and after guaranteed results:

Surgery is the most direct means of achieving smooth, clean neck shapes. The surgical treatments include:

  1. Neck Band Surgery:

Brings the edges of the platysmal muscles together, flattening their appearance from the chin to the collarbone like the subclavian bones. Because this surgery focuses only on the neck bands, it is usually performed in conjunction with neck liposuction, a facelift, or a   neck lift.

  1. Neck Lift:

Removes excess, sagging skin by pulling it up to an incision, usually behind the ears. A neck lift is usually performed in conjunction with a lower facelift, as the neck and lower face share muscle and skin structures. Conveniently, a physician has the ability to perform two procedures using a single incision

  1. Neck Liposuction (Lipo):

Helps to sculpt the neckline by surgically removing excess fat under the chin and in the acoustic pockets along the neck.

  1. Chin Implant:

A chin enlargement can often help fill in loose skin, reducing the sagging of the upper neck. This is a rapid process. It places a customized implant into your unique jawbone, through a small incision hidden under the chin.

  1. Lower facelift:

Although this surgery does not instantly focus on the neck, it can remove jowls and give the chin area more shape. This is often done in conjunction with a neck lift.

       6. Non-invasive treatments:

Laser skin tightening treatment, ultrasound treatment and radiofrequency treatment are non-invasive treatments that use laser or wave frequencies to heat the layers beneath the skin and encourage the production of new collagen. These stimulating treatments can tighten your skin for up to two years.

Who doesn’t love beautiful, blushing lips? Do you want your lips to look chubby, youthful, and colourful? A permanent lip colour is a perfect option for enhancing the size, shape, and colour of your lips realistically.

Beautiful, deep-coloured lips make us look more gorgeous and immediately boost our confidence. Thankfully, there is a highly effective solution that can enhance the beauty of your natural lip colour as well as improve the shape of your lips: Permanent Lip colour!

What is Permanent lip colour:

Lip colour is a form of tattoo or makeup where people want to refresh the colour of their lip border. It’s very common, especially in women,  for their lips and lip lines to droop as we age. With the growing age, the lack of colour and lip definition women use lip liners to adjust the shape of their lips so that they may look a little bigger. The permanent lip tint is now becoming a common treatment because today every woman wants to look elegant with their glossy lips!

Permanent lip colour treatment also known as lip tattooing is a type of embellishing tattooing that improves lip colour by depositing coloured ink into the lips with a mechanical needle. The ensuing lip tattoo is modest, not saturated, due to recent advancements in semi-permanent makeup. Lip blush tattooing is comparable to the whip-shading or pepper-shading techniques seen in traditional tattooing. The resulting tattoo, which generally lasts for two to three years, infuses lips with a praising tint, sort of a stain or balm. After obtaining lip colour, you can still wear lipsticks and lipsticks to change up your look, if you like—but many women after their lip blush treatment are happy to go without lip makeup. For some clients, the goal is not to use a daily lip colour or gloss. At the end of the procedure, the client should feel more assured about baring their ’natural,’ product-free lips.

Now make your lips look perfect with Permanent Lips

If you have lost that glowing colour of your lips and you are tired of putting on lipstick again and again throughout the day, a permanent lip colour might be just what you need. Wondering what is permanent lip colour tattoo? Well, it is nothing but a gentle form of lip tattoo that enhances the shape of your lips, enhances lip colour, and gives a defined look as well as the illusion of fullness. This remarkable technique has become increasingly popular among women of all ages across the world. “This technique is an instant face brightener,” says Dominique Bossavy, a renowned permanent makeup artist. ” The best part is that it is a safe procedure. The entire procedure takes around 2-2.5 hours. During the procedure, permanent makeup artists usually apply a numbing agent to the lips to minimize the pain. “This treatment is for a client who is used to wearing makeup and likes to use pencil, lipstick and gloss, but wants to save the time and effort,” says Bossavy. It is additionally for the individuals who have had their lip colour and definition fade out, or their lip border flattens over time. I also suggest it for those with significant asymmetries since the technique can add balance.

What’s the procedure like?

Permanent cosmetic lip colour treatment is usually performed by an aesthetician or cosmetic tattoo artist. The procedure is accomplished in the following steps:

  1. In the first step, a topical anaesthetic agent is applied for about 20 minutes to numb your lips so that you may feel less pain and discomfort during the procedure.
  2. After that, the technician will look for the desired shape and colour of your lips and any sketches that need your approval.
  3. Next by using a small needle the technician will inject the natural-looking pigment into your lips. This process will take several steps until the tone of the lips become even and balanced.
  4. All the procedures may be completed in 1-3 hours.

Permanent lip colour healing process:

As long as you have chosen the right professional therapist for you then it’s normal to have swelling after permanent lip tint treatment even if you are in good health condition. The healing process will surprise you and you will notice how safely and shortly your lips have healed. Care can increase the age of everything. So if you take proper aftercare of your lips then your permanent lip stain can last for longer than expected.

Complete permanent lip colour recovery process:

  • Days: 1-2

Your lips will look brighter than expected. Your lips will also feel swollen and delicate. Your complexion will begin to darken temporarily throughout the day as the pigment deteriorates.

  • Days: 3-14:

Your lips will feel dry and begin the process of cracking. Let the shedding happen naturally. As your lips pout, it looks like your lip colour is very light and “frosty”. You may also feel itching and peeling of the skin during the first week. These days your lips will lose colour by 20 to 50% and the contrast between the initial intense colour and the new lip colour will be such that you may look disappointed but do not worry it is only temporary because your lips are still healing. Over the next several days, your lip colour will reappear until it completely fades.

  • Days:28-42:

After 3-4 weeks of the exfoliating process, the shape and edge of your lips will be adjusted to your desires. At this stage, you’re done with the healing process as your lips are completely healed. You can now enjoy your new look and can again go back to your artist to brighten up your lips for more deeper and saturated glossy lips.

Permanent lip colour for dark lips:

Lip colouring procedure for darker lips can be a life-challenging procedure for people having darker lips. This is not the same as lip colouring of light-coloured lips. It’s because people with lighter lips desire to undergo permanent lip blush treatment to make their lips look sharper and defined and have more colour coverage. The others having darker lips desire their lips to look balanced and even toned and lighter.

Not everyone with darker lips is the right candidate to qualify for permanent lip colour. Many Artists reject clients with darker lips because every lip is unique and lip colouring may not work for all dark lips. The treatment is not going to happen in one session, especially ethnic lip colouring. Only light technique and correct colour match can work. Melanin-rich lips vary in colour. Some customers have grey, blue, purple, and brown undertones. It is very important not to overdo such lips, as shying away from the procedure can create a darker colour in skin already rich in melanin, in addition to semi-permanent makeup pigment.

Dark lips healing process:

As dark lips begin to heal and peel after permanent lip blush, they may lighten or darken in certain areas. Sometimes clients may experience hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation after inflammation which goes away but can be risky for a client. Depending on how dark and hyperpigmented the lips are, it may take several sessions to balance the lips. The healing process for dark lips can be weird, sometimes clients’ lips are dark at first and lighten after a few weeks. With dark lips, healing generally takes 8-10 weeks. It is a lengthy process.

Aftercare for permanent lip colour:

  • After the procedure, you have to be more careful about your lips and you should remember following instructions to protect your lips from any damage. Do not use anything like makeup, cream, moisturizer etc on your treated area except the product given by the artist until completely healed.
  • After your procedure, your skin will begin to form a protective scab. You may see lymphatic fluid on the skin. The fluid should be blotted with a clean gauze pad and drained. It can crust the skin and prevent it from breathing and healing. After 24 hours, clean the treated area daily with lukewarm water and a non-alcoholic soap. Apply a soapy solution to sterile gauze and blot 4 to 5 times to clean. Then let the stain dry completely. Use only tapping motions. Do not clean, wipe and scratch! Make sure the area is completely dry so there should be a minimum chance of germs.
  • Lips will be chapped for a day or two and a week. The crust on the lips must have dried up after sleeping. Stain with water. Cleanse and apply aftercare products as directed by the physician. Do not disturb the crust and peel the skin while cleaning and let it fall off on its own. Peeling the skin will cause a loss of pigment and can pull out deeper tissue. The edges of the lips will be the last to fall off. Removing it will result in an uneven marked line or a marked scar.
  • Apply aftercare products to a clean, dry area. Apply the ointment to the scabs that are starting to form. Before applying ointment make sure it is dry otherwise, it can cause irritation or infection and lead to discolouration.
  • Keep your lips moisturized at all times with an aftercare product. Stop using aftercare products approximately 3 weeks after the procedure when no more itching is present. Begin by applying a lip-friendly sunblock to protect the stain and a good lip balm.
  • You must also be careful with your eating after your treatment. The lips will be soft at first after the procedure. Just drink through a straw. Choose only foods that you can put in your mouth with a fork without touching your lips.
  • Do not eat spicy foods for 48 hours after your procedure. Avoid eating oily foods, salty foods, acidic foods or alcohol during the healing process.
  • Do not put toothpaste on your lips. It is a good idea to only brush your teeth with water for 72 hours after treatment.
  • Don’t overstretch the lips with a big smile or pout the lips with a smoky look when they’re healing. Those movements push and pull the edges of the lips, creating tension and friction between the firm normal skin around the mouth and the broken, swollen lip edges. The skin of the lips is a continuation of the thin mucous membrane of the mouth. It is not as strong as normal skin.

FAQ:

How to choose permanent lip colour?

Choosing the appropriate colour for your permanent lips is not an easy task. You need to understand how the pigment will interact with the lips tissue and what will be the final look of the lips.

Firstly the client will suggest the desired colour for her lips. The technician should then determine the undertone of the lips of the client. For this, the client may stretch his lips so that they can see the undertone. After that, the technician should imagine it mixed with the undertone that your client has on her lips. Also, you have to consider your skin shade before selecting lip shade whether you have a pale, medium or darker complexion. For pale skin tones, peachy colours or light shades are recommended. Individuals with darker complexion may have to struggle more with finding their best shade because the blue or purple subtones make it difficult for the pigment to show up. However, the orange-based shades are best complimented for this skin tone.

How long does permanent lipstick last?

The lip colouring treatment lasts for about 3 to 5 years and fades from time to time. If you will take good aftercare then the colour may last for longer. Sun exposure, smoking, skin exfoliation, and iron deficiency can increase the process of pigment loss. Individuals with more oily skin can also suffer from quickly colour fade.

Can you permanently dye your lips?

The answer is simply yes. The process involves cosmetic pigmentation around and inside the lip area. Your permanent colour artist will use a topical needle and apply the permanent lip stain to your lips which will fade into your natural skin tone over time.

How much does permanent lip colour cost?

Much like the other cosmetic treatments, you cannot deny that this is also a costly procedure. The cost depends upon your location, your technician and how much pigment your lips need to achieve the desired results. However, the average cost of the procedure is $500 to $1500. Some artists also charge for extra touch-ups that could be a minimum of up to $150. However, if you want effective permanent lips, it’s not worth cutting corners to find a more affordable option. When it comes to semi-permanent lip colour treatments, you do get what you pay for and you need to see the upfront cost as an investment in your future.

What are the benefits of Permanent lip colour:

This lip treatment has many benefits that are hard to ignore. Permanent lip colour can make your lips look more elegant well defined and shaped, more pigmented and more balanced. This procedure saves you time applying makeup and lipstick again and again to change your look. You are now free and you can go anywhere with the blushing and elegant look on your lips. It can help you increase your confidence and boost your self-esteem. Permanent lip colouring is safe, it has no side effects if performed by the well professional therapist. As this procedure is becoming very common nowadays so it is quite affordable and it lasts for a longer period of 3 to 5 years and fades over from time to time.
