Saim Sadiq has been included in the list of ‘Directors to watch for 2023’.

Earlier today, Saim shared this surprising feat on his Instagram account. The caption on the post says: “Some good news from @variety today as we continue the conflict to release #joyland in Punjab! #releasejoyland”

Many celebrities praised Sime for his success. Actor/singer Ali Gul Peer dropped a line: “I’m observing you” while Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy wrote: “So proud of you.”

Director Mehreen Jabbar mentioned: “Same really deserves it.” The very talented singer Ali Sethi also commented on the post by leaving a fire emoticon.

Joyland, directed by Salem Sadiq, starring Sania Saeed, Ali Junejo, Aleena KHAM and Sarwat Geelani, was finally released in Pakistan on 18 November after facing banning issues from the Censor Board.

But this movie has been released only in Sindh, while it is prohibited in Punjab. Saim is battling hard to get his Oscar-nominated film released in the province.
