Investigators summon CCTV footage of Arshad Sharif’s residence in Dubai

ISLAMABAD: Investigators inquiring the murder of a senior journalist Arshad Sharif in Kenya , have wanted details in a second letter  addressed to the Dubai authorities.

Sharif was invited to come back and stay in African country Kenya by Nairobi-based property developer Waqar Ahmed, brother of Khurram Ahmed, who was driving the journalist on the fateful night of October 23. They were killed in hail of bullltes raised by Kenyan police in a deserted area.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, formed two-members investigation committee comprising  FIA Director Athar Wahid and IB Deputy Director General Umar Shahid Hamid, asked the authorities to review and provide complete records of the CCTV footage of Arshad Sharif’s residence and his presence within the UAE from August ten to twenty .

Investigators inquiring Sharif’s murder additionally wanted answers on why Arshad Sharif’s visa to Duabi was cancelled. They additionally demanded the call information record of the slain journalist’s cell-phone.

The investigation team additionally wanted the phone records of Salman Iqbal and Tariq Wasi.

According to the report, the UAE official met Arshad Sharif on August nineteen.

In a report, the investigation team said that an officer of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) government on August nineteen (between 2pm and 4pm UAE time) at the Hotel Millennium Al-Basrah in Al-Basrah, Dubai. .

Pakistani investigators have written to the Pakistani diplomatic building General in Dubai to assist the Pakistani team along side the Dubai Police to spot Salim Abdullah.

Sharif arrived in African country Kenya  on August twenty on a request letter sent by Waqar Ahmad, who was being driven by his brother Khurram Ahmad at the time of his murder. Waqar told the police that he had invited and hosted Sharif at the request of Tariq Wasi.

The Pakistani investigation team has written a second letter to the Dubai authorities to produce data, that has not been shared up to now despite 2 requests.
