COAS appreciated the ‘fighting spirit’ of the Pakistan Cricket Team

Addressing the national cricket team at a reception organized by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Thursday, outgoing Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa praised the “fighting spirit” of the players.

President Dr Arif Alvi and COAS met the T20 tournament squad at a local hotel where the president said that the team “lived up to its name of being unpredictable”.

“They have created the country proud by defeating the simplest groups on their way to World Cup Final,” President Alvi said.

While the COAS said he enjoys the batting of openers fictional characters Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, he thinks Shadab Khan is the best.

“I believe there’s no higher T20 player than Shadab Khan who has each trick out his sleeve, essential for a top quality T20 player.”

Emphasizing the importance of diligence and discipline, the COAS praised the team, by saying that they’d “made the country proud by beating the multi-billion dollar groups to succeed in the finals.

He said that the bowlers within the team created the matches sensationally. “The bowlers face their hearts call in front of a low target that was exciting to look at.”

He added that showing fighting spirit is additional necessary than “winning or losing”, calling in the thing what’s “most important”.

He further said that when you lose you must have the spirit to just accept your defeat. One who doesn’t learn from their mistakes can’t be known as a real leader.

COAS, who is hooked on sports and competes in the Patron’s Trophy in his flower, told The News that he competes as a wicketkeeper-batsman.

“Yes, I keep in mind the evaluation of a century as a wicket-keeper batsman against PACO within the Patrons Trophy Grade II.”

PCB chairman Ramiz Raja had earlier lauded his team for his or her productive run within the past few months that saw them play within the Asia Cup and tournament finals and clinch the tri-series finish in New Zealand.
